Privacy Policy - Subbed
In short: Subbed works entirely on your device. There are no accounts and no sign-up, we don't track you, show ads, or use analytics. The only times any information leaves the app are when you choose to import a recipe from a website, send us feedback through "Report an Issue," or turn on Android's device backup.
This policy explains what information Subbed ("the app", "we", "us") handles, and applies to the Subbed Android app published by potted.dev.
1. Information stored on your device
Everything you create, enter, or set in Subbed is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else, apart from the cases described in Section 2. We cannot see this data. You can erase it at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
2. Information that leaves the app
a. Recipe import. When you paste a recipe link, the app connects from your device directly to the website you chose in order to read the recipe. That website receives the request (for example your IP address and standard connection details) and handles it under its own privacy policy. We do not operate those sites, and we do not receive or store your browsing or import activity.
b. "Report an Issue" feedback. This is the app's only channel that sends information to us, and only if you use it. When you submit a report, the following is sent:
| What is sent | Required? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your message | Required | To understand your feedback or bug report |
| Your name | Optional | Only if you want to give it |
| Your email | Optional | Only so we can reply to you |
| Diagnostic footer: app version, OS version, device language | Automatic | To reproduce and fix the issue; shown to you before you send. No device model, no identifiers, no location. |
Reports are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and delivered to us through Formspark, a third-party form-processing service that passes the submission to us. Formspark processes the data on our behalf; see the Formspark Privacy Policy. We use what you send only to respond to you and improve the app. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.
c. Device backups. If backup is turned on for your Android device, a copy of your Subbed data (recipes, substitutions, and settings) is included in that backup and stored in your Google Account. This is handled entirely by Android: it's encrypted, and you control it in your device's backup settings. We can't see or access your backups.
3. Data retention and deletion
On-device data stays until you delete it, by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. If device backup is turned on, a copy may remain in your Google Account backup after you uninstall. You can manage or delete it from your device or Google Account backup settings.
Feedback you send us is kept only as long as needed to address your report and any follow-up, then deleted. You can ask us to delete a report you sent - including any name or email you provided - by emailing the address below.
4. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, and to object to certain processing. In practice the only personal information we could hold is what you voluntarily include in a feedback report. To exercise any right, email us and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Backup deletion is controlled by you through Google, not by us, since we have no access to your device backups and can't delete them on your behalf.
5. Security
Your content is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's own security. Feedback submissions are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but because we collect so little, the exposure is minimal by design.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
7. Contact
Questions or data requests: privacy@potted.dev (potted.dev, developer of Subbed). This policy is governed by the laws of Israel, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
